About Me

Welcome! I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). My primary research interests are in Computer Security and its intersection with Formal Methods, Distributed Systems, and Cross-disciplinary Architectures, in particular, Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS). I've been working on the advanced power grid (smart grid) related research for over 6 years now at various stages of my academic and professional career.
I joined SIUE in Fall 2014 after a two-year stint as an Assistant Research Professor at Washington State University, where I was part of the GridStat Project and TCIPG. My Ph.D. (in Computer Science) is from Missouri S&T, which I completed in December 2011 under Dr. Bruce McMillin. I also worked as a postdoctoral researcher for the FREEDM center and led its software development team at Missouri S&T between Jan-May of 2012. I received my M.S. in Computer Science from the St. Cloud State University (2008) and B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Peradeniya (2006) Sri Lanka.
