To develop an interactive video game that will utilize the Nintendo Wii gaming remote that will teach the proper brushing technique in children ages four and five. The game will be designed to appeal to boys and girls in order to encourage game play. As the game is played children will progress through levels designed to achieve increased learning and dexterity. Involvement translates to more effective unsupervised brushing with incorporation of dental facts that the child learns along the way. The long term goal for the game will be for dental offices to incorporate the use of the game to enhance oral hygiene instruction and transfer the learned skills to the home environment. This will ultimately reduce the incidence of dental caries.
