The primary purpose of this system is to provide an educational and entertaining tool for an audience that consists of a wide range of ages and abilities. The client, Dr. Jerry Weinberg, is in the process of acquiring a robot capable of being controlled remotely. The client has requested an application that will allow people to control and learn about this robot. It is required that the application provide information about the development of our project so that future engineering students will be able to learn from our experience. NORRT will also design a website that will educate the public about the field of robotics and its applications. Visitors to the web page will be able to see live images from the robot’s camera while it is online. The next advancement will allow visitors to take turns controlling the robot. Time permitting; NORRT will develop an advancement that will allow the robot to move autonomously to user specified locations within the SIUE Engineering Building.
