Research & Projects
Senior Projects
Each senior is required to complete a Senior Assignment that demonstrates proficiency in the major and academic breadth commensurate with SIUE's general education expectations. The Senior Research Assignment (SRA) is a scholarly engagement between student and dedicated professor(s) that results in a product.
Robotics
This site is the primary source of information about robot research, student robotics projects, robotics competitions, and robotics related outreach programs conducted by SIUE faculty and students.
Human-Computer Interaction (HCI)
HCI teaches the design of interactions between people and computers, interface design, conceptual models, design methods, software evaluation, and ethical concerns.
Game Playing AI Interface
Every year, the CS Dept. and SIUE offers an intro to Artificial Intelligence Course to its students. One of the topics covered in this course is Heuristic Search techniques. To give students experience writing heuristics, they are assigned to write a game playing agent that competes in a competition. The most recent incarnation of this competition is called Link4, a Connect Four like game supporting an increased number of rows and columns. This website contains the software that is used by students to test and compete against their own programs.
