April 19, 2007 - Computer Science Students to be Honored
On Sunday April 15 2007 SIUE will host Honors Day, rewarding students for the academic achievements. Several students from the Computer Science department are to be recognized at this program for their academic excellence. The following awards will be presented at this years ceremony:
Grace Murray Hopper Award ($500)
The Grace Hopper award recognizes students of notable achievement and promise, and is one of the highest awards offered by the Department of Computer Science. The award is named after Grace Murray Hopper, who was a pioneer in the development of the compiler for computing languages.

Nori Sushi Restaurant Scholarship ($500)
Former Computer Science student and current owner of Nori - Sushi and Japanese Grill, graciously offered a scholarship to full time graduate and undergraduate Computer Science majors with a 3.0 GPA or higher and completed at least one 300 level CS class or higher.
