In the fall semester of 2006, Dr. Dan Dooly of the Computer Science Dept. will be teaching a class in Artificial Neural Networks. The primary emphasis of this class will be the practical application of neural networks to solve real world problems. The class will use open-source tools to create and study the properties of artificial neural networks. Students will design and implement artificial neural networks that play games and complete simple tasks, while learning how neural networks are used in serious applications such as medical diagnosis and computer security.
